The Short Version
Discretion is how this practice operates, and that extends to this website. This page explains what the site collects, why, and what happens to it. In plain terms: we collect only what we need to respond to you and run the site, we don't sell your information, and you can ask to see what we hold or have it deleted, subject to any legal requirement to keep it.
The rest of this page is the detail behind that. Where the two differ, the detail governs.
(This policy covers how the website handles data. The confidentiality of in-person client work is a separate matter, governed by the direct relationship between Yodi and each client.)
1 · Who This Policy Covers
This policy applies to Yodi Richeson ("we," "us"), operating the website at yodiricheson.com. It covers information collected through this site, its inquiry and speaking forms, the newsletter signup, and standard website analytics.
If you contact us directly by email or engage Yodi's services, information shared in those relationships is handled with the same care described here.
2 · What We Collect
Information you give us directly. When you submit an inquiry or a speaking/media request, we collect what you enter: your name, email, organization, message, and, if you provide it, your phone number. For speaking and media requests, we also collect the event details you share (event name, date, location, format, audience size, and whether travel is covered). When you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect your email address.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this site collects limited technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device, referring page, and how you move through the site. This is collected through website analytics tools and standard server logs, and is used in aggregate to understand and improve the site.
Cookies and similar technologies. The site uses cookies as described in Section 6.
We do not knowingly collect more than we need, and we don't ask for sensitive personal information through this website.
3 · How We Use Your Information
We use the information you share to:
- Respond to your inquiry and open the right conversation, routed by the type of request you selected.
- Evaluate and coordinate speaking, media, mentorship, or performance engagements.
- Send the newsletter, if you've subscribed (and only until you unsubscribe).
- Operate, secure, and improve the website.
- Meet legal or regulatory obligations where they apply.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and we do not sell it. (See Section 5.)
4 · Why We're Allowed to Use Your Information
In plain terms: we use your information because you asked us to (when you contact us or subscribe), because it's reasonably needed to run the site and respond to you, or because the law requires it. You can change your mind about the newsletter anytime.
The precise version, where the law requires one: where a legal basis is required, we rely on your consent (for the newsletter, which you may withdraw at any time), our legitimate interests (responding to inquiries and keeping the site secure), and legal obligation (where we must retain or disclose information).
7 · How Long We Keep It
We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purpose you shared it, to respond to and manage your inquiry, or to send the newsletter until you unsubscribe, and as long as required to meet legal or record-keeping obligations. When it's no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
8 · How We Protect It
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information you share through this site. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we treat your information with care and limit access to it. If something sensitive or time-critical is involved, a direct conversation is always available.
9 · Your Choices and Rights
You can:
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, using the link in any email.
- Ask what we hold about you, and request a copy.
- Correct or update your information.
- Ask us to delete it, subject to any legal obligations to retain it.
- Object to or restrict certain uses.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, for example, under the GDPR/UK GDPR (EU/UK) or the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sale" or "sharing" (we do neither). To exercise any of these, contact us at hello@yodiricheson.com. We'll respond within the timeframe the applicable law requires.
10 · Links and Embedded Content
This site links to and may embed third-party content, for example, Yodi's LinkedIn profile, the Forbes article, and speaking or teaching video. Those services have their own privacy practices, and this policy doesn't cover them. We'd encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit or interact with.
11 · Children's Privacy
This site is intended for a professional adult audience. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided information through this site, contact us and we'll delete it.
12 · Contact
Questions about this policy, or about your information, can go to:
Email: hello@yodiricheson.com
If you'd rather reach us about an engagement, the Contact page is the place to start.
13 · Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, where the change is significant, note it clearly. Continued use of the site after an update means the current version applies.
