The Story Behind the Practice

How Early Observation Shaped 30 Years of Pro Athletic Care

My understanding of the human body began at home, with my older brother, Mike. He taught me to walk, and he made me curious about how a body works. He also held me to a higher standard than I would have held myself to.

My career in sport started with volleyball, women's first, then men's. I watched women win championships for a fraction of the money and none of the spotlight, and keep showing up anyway. That grind inspired me. After Olympic-level work, my phone kept ringing; someone would call and hang up, until I finally called back. It was an NBA team.

The NBA was another world: the resources, the stakes, the caliber of body on the table. On the rehabilitation side I worked under Marco Nunes, flushing players, synchronizing with other practitioners, making sure the athlete came back whole. What I saw there confirmed what I already believed. Elite athletes and high performers were too often handed generic care, relaxation work that offered temporary comfort, or rigid, isolated protocols that ignored how a restriction in one place cascades through the whole chain. I kept honing the craft to close that gap, grounding my work in osteopathic technique, joint and fascial mobility, and biomechanics, and reading gait, rotational mechanics, and soft-tissue feedback in real time to find the root of a problem rather than chase the symptom.

That approach is what built the relationships. The NBA became my longest-standing one, and the work grew from there, select clients across baseball and tennis, and touring performers. Along the way I learned that elite care takes more than my own two hands; it takes integration. So I built a trusted network of specialists, and when a client's needs extend beyond my scope, I route them to the right person without hesitation.

Today my work stays anchored in the same principle it started with: listening to what the body is actually telling us, speaking the exact language of the team's medical staff, and delivering precise, durable movement restoration for people who cannot afford downtime.

Purpose & Direction

What the Work Is For

Two things hold the practice steady: what it delivers now, and the standard it’s building toward.

Mission

To return elite performers, athletes, executives, and artists, to the work they were built for, with care shaped for the exact demand their bodies are under.

Vision

To set the standard for elite performance care, and to pass it on, through teaching, mentorship, and work that reaches far beyond her own table.

Core Values

The Principles Behind Every Session

These aren’t posted on a wall. They show up in who she takes on, what she refuses, and how she works alongside your team.

Precision over protocol.

Assessed, not guessed. Every plan is built for the demand the body is actually under that day, not a standard routine. She reads what is in front of her and works from what she finds.

Discretion.

Privacy is a practice, not a policy. Her clients live under a microscope; what happens in a session, and who she works with, stays between them. It is the reason much of her work is never named.

Referral integrity.

She would rather send you to the right person than keep work that isn't hers. If a need falls outside her scope, she names it and makes the introduction. Her career was built on being the correct referral, not the only option.

Cross-disciplinary fluency.

She speaks the language of surgeons, physicians, and physical therapists because her training required it. That fluency lets her translate a diagnosis into something a client can act on, and coordinate care instead of working in isolation.

Teaching what she knows.

She mentors practitioners moving into private practice and teaches manual therapy internationally. As she puts it, we are fortunate to know what we know, so there is no reason to keep it. Raising other practitioners is part of the work, not separate from it.

Elite, not exclusive.

The standard is elite; the access is by fit, not by status. She takes the work she can do well, and is honest when someone else is the better call.

Osteopathic Manual Therapy Biomechanics Joint & Fascial Mobility Movement Restoration Performance Recovery

For the clinician deciding whether Yodi fits their protocols, a clear read on her lane before clearing her to work with a roster.

  1. Osteopathic Manual Therapy

Hands-on soft-tissue and manual technique informed by osteopathic training for performance and recovery. This is technique, not physician practice, she coordinates with a client's doctors, never diagnoses or replaces them.

  2. Biomechanics

Assessing how a body moves under load, gait, mechanics, compensation patterns, to find the source of strain, not just the symptom. This read shapes every plan.

  3. Joint & Fascial Mobility

Restoring range and glide in joints and fascia, addressing the restriction that limits movement or drives recurring injury. Durable mobility, not temporary relief.

  4. Movement Restoration

Rebuilding functional movement after injury or surgery, alongside the surgical and rehab team. Return-to-play is progressive, not linear.

  5. Performance Recovery

In-season and between-session recovery for athletes and high performers, scaled to training load. Volume rises near competition and eases in the off-season, matched to what the body is asking for rather than a fixed schedule.

Training

The Same Language as the Medical Team

Yodi’s work is grounded in osteopathic technique, clinical anatomy, and biomechanics, the same foundational sciences her medical colleagues train in. That’s why she can sit with team physicians, orthopedic surgeons, and physical therapists, speak their language, and coordinate care instead of working around it. It’s what separates her from the soft-tissue-technician category, and what earns her the handoff.

  • Osteopathic manual therapy training
  • Advanced biomechanics and movement assessment
  • Joint and fascial mobility specialization

Teaching and Mentorship

Teaching is both a current service and a growing pillar of Yodi’s work. She mentors therapists, athletic trainers, and physical therapists moving into private practice, not only the clinical craft, but the business behind it: pricing, setup, and how to run a practice that reflects their real value.

She teaches an AMR class internationally and is bringing it to a university in Bosnia. And she develops and refers within a trusted network of practitioners, so a client is never more than one honest introduction away from the right hands.
